Thank you for joining our Concerned Southern Gulf Islands Coalition to stay informed on the Islands Trust Policy Statement and its impacts to our regional business and resident communities. Our volunteers have canvassed public opinion through social media, ads and flyers to obtain your views and conveyed those directly to the Islands Trust decision-makers through letters, speaking at meetings and in the major media.
As a result of our efforts, the Islands Trust has subsequently agreed to delay the first reading of the Policy Statement bylaw.
This is our opportunity to reach even more residents and businesses to ensure their voices are heard. Now, more than ever, we need your financial help. The Islands Trust has since engaged a consultant to push these regulatory bylaws through. Listening is part of leadership. They need to listen to their constituents and communities.
